Hosting

Unless you already have a web site, you will need a hosting site. If you are not familiar with what that is, it is where the information for your site is stored.

For the sake of simplicity, and to keep your costs as low as possible, I have decided not to do my own hosting. There are many places to have your site hosted at. Some are more reliable than others, and prices vary.

Tiger Technologies is the host I have been using and I have been very happy with them. The cost is less than any place I've found and their service and tech support has been excellent.

Their basic service includes the following:

  • No setup or domain registration fees
  • Includes your own free domain name, such as www.example.com
  • POP e-mail accounts and e-mail forwarding aliases
  • Webmail access to your e-mail
  • Web site statistics
  • FrontPage 98/2000/2002 support
  • Perl CGI and PHP support, with FormMail and Counter CGI programs pre-installed
  • MySQL database support
  • SSH and telnet shell access
  • E-mail screening to block viruses and minimize spam
  • Unlimited subdomains
  • Mailman mailing list support
  • Reliable servers with fast, redundant connections
  • Several plans available to suit any sized Web site
  • No setup, cancellation or domain registration fees
  • Starting at $6.25 a month when prepaid annually ($6.95 billed monthly)
If you would like more information, please visit Tiger Technology. You are, of course, welcome to remain with a current host or choose someone else.
