Q. How do I know what to include in my website?
A. One of the primary services Stellar Web Creations provides is consultation on all aspects of the website. We are committed to work with you to decide on the best the look and the layout and to plan the content of the site, with the ultimate goal of making your site the most effective it can be. Top
Q.
How long will it take to create my site?
A.
That will depend on several things: 1) The number of pages to the site; 2 )The amount (if any) custom graphics needed; 3)The number or complexity of forms needed. The average site, however, can often be built in as little as two weeks. Top
Q.
What is 'hosting'?
A.
A host site is the company that stores your website on their server. Top
Q.
Do I have to find my own host site?
A.
Not unless you want to. We have hosted several sites (including this site) through Tiger Technologies, and have been very satisfied with their excellent prices, service and reliability. If you would like to find out more, visit our Hosting page where more information on their prices and service as well as links to their site can be found. However, you are welcome to look for another host if you prefer not to host with Tiger Technology. Top
Q.
What if I want to make frequent changes or add photos to my site?
A.
Ongoing site maintenance can be billed two ways: 1) $25 per hour (billed in half-hour increments) 2) An agreed monthly maintenance fee Top
Q.
What is a template and why might I want to use one?
A.
A template is a pre-made site layout. The best reasons for using them is they allow us to create your site in much less time than if we create a custom template from scratch. We have a few carefully chosen sources for our templates, based on their excellence and affordability. There are litterally thousands to choose from. For a few examples, visit our Templates page. Top
Q.
What if I don't like the template once it is installed?
A.

When the first page is done, we will allow you to view it. This will save us both time if you are not happy with the template. If you chose a template we had in stock, you may simply choose another template, and you will only be billed for the template used. If you chose a template we did not have in stock, there will be a 20% restocking fee, as well as the cost of the new template.

Due to the time it takes to create a custom designed site, recouping the cost is not possible. We do, however, take great care during the planning stages before we begin to create the site, and will allow frequent previews of the site and the graphics being created. This will minimize the cost of changing a custom template. Top

Q.
How many pages is the average site?
A.
The average site ranges between 7 - 20 pages, but can vary depending on the nature of the business and/or the purpose of the site. Top
Q.
What are forms? Why is there an extra charge for them?
A.
Forms allow your customers to interact with you. The most common forms are basic E-mail forms and Request for Quote forms. A basic E-mail form is included with each site. Pages that contain custom forms are more labor intensive to create and test, and therefore cost extra. Top
Q.
Will my web pages work with any browser?
A.

They should. We test all pages in Internet Explorer, Netscape and Opera (the primary browsers), and do our best to insure each browser displays the pages correctly. We create our pages in HTML 4 which is universal code for all browsers. In spite of that, the browsers still tend display the same page differently. Since, at times, it is not possible to eliminate this problem, we make sure IE displays correctly since it is the most widely used browser.

Important note: Certain elements, such as a PowerPoint presentation may only be accessible with the Internet Explorer; others may only be viewable with Netscape. You should keep this in mind if your target customers are more likely to use an alternative browser. Top

Q.
Can I get help with the content? The text? The photos?
A.
Yes. We have a resident writer and editor on staff who can help with editing or writing your content text. We prefer photos be supplied in digital format. If that is not possible, a fee for scanning photos or taking digital photos will apply. Top
Q.
Can you design a logo for me, copy my corporate logo or create a banner ad?
A.
Yes, we can design a new logo, copy a corporate logo give your current logo a make-over, or create banner ads. View some examples of custom designed logos and banners. Top
